Our story

An overview of our origins

How the journey of giving and community service began

AlBir Charity in Riyadh is one of the oldest charitable associations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Founded in 1392 AH, it was among the first associations to lay the foundation for institutional charitable work.
The Association was chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, when he was Governor of Riyadh Region, and he led its first Board of Directors. This reflects the Association’s standing and its pivotal role in supporting and organizing charitable work.
The efforts of AlBir Charity in Riyadh were not limited to providing assistance and services to those in need. It was also the core from which many major associations emerged, strengthening charitable work and community development, most notably:
• Orphans Care Charitable Association (Insan)
• King Salman Charitable Housing Association
• Imam Muhammad bin Saud Charitable Association in Diriyah
• Ibn Baz Family Development Association

Through this pioneering role, AlBir Charity in Riyadh continues its mission of serving the community and strengthening the values of social solidarity, setting an example in sustainable charitable work.
